All Concrete Pool Removal

Our clients had recently purchased their new home. Unfortunately it came with a backyard pool they did not want. So they called us here at MackLand to have it removed.

This all concrete pool took up most of the back yard. We broke up the pool bottom and took down the pool walls. We also broke up the surrounding concrete walk and hauled that concrete offsite. There was an old timber retaining wall at the back edge of the pool that we removed as well.

We backfilled with clean material and compacted as we went. We finished with topsoil, seed and erosion control blanket. Our clients now have a large backyard for their child to explore.

Denver, Colorado Pool Removal

Fiberglass Shell Pool Removal

After starting one pool removal in Denver, Colorado, the neighbors next door were curious as to what we were doing. Once they learned we were removing the pool and how we have streamlined the process, they signed up to have their pool removed as well.

Their pool was a fiberglass shell pool that the homeowner and his father had installed many years ago. The family had enjoyed the pool for many years but it had not been used recently. They had been unsure of what to with the pool and the backyard in general and it was perfect timing that we were working right next door.

As with all fiberglass shell pools, we removed the pool entirely and hauled it offsite. We broke up the concrete walk around the pool and used it as structural fill in the bottom. Clean, compactable fill material was brought in. We brought the area to grade and the homeowner is planning on sodding the area. The backyard doubled in size for usable space, their dog will love the extra room to run.

Barrington, Illinois Pool Removal

Vinyl Liner Pool Removal

Our clients enjoyed having a pool in the backyard, however over time it became more than they wanted to deal with. The liner needed to be replaced and the steel pool walls were beginning to rust and fail. They had not used the pool in a few years and decided it was time for it to go.

This vinyl liner pool removal in Barrington was a pool style we have seen many times in the area. This pool consisted of a vinyl liner, steel sides and a vermiculite bottom. Not all liner pools have a concrete pool bottom, some are a form of vermiculite (like this one) that is very chalky and easy to break up.

We removed the steel side and concrete walk around the pool and disposed of both offsite. No material from the pool was buried. We then brought in clean back fill material, compacted in layers and brought the area to rough grade. The pool had been slightly raised so we graded out the area to give our client’s a level, usable backyard. We finished with grass seed and ersosion control blanket to blend the new lawn area into the existing lawn.

Morton Grove, Illinois Vinyl Liner Pool Removal

We recently removed a vinyl liner pool in Morton Grove. The homeowners had not been using the swimming pool in many years and were ready to see it go. The cover had fallen in and the liner was starting to pull away from the walls. The homeowner wanted to use the space for other sports and has plans to eventually install a sport court.

This pool was a typical vinyl liner pool, vermiculite bottom with steel walls. After removing the sunken cover, vinyl liner and steel walls, we back-filled and compacted the area. We also removed the concrete pool deck and fence that surrounded the pool. Our trained operators have many options on getting the dirt to your backyard. Even though this property appeared to have wide open access, there was an architectural element on the property that restricted access.

To finish, we spread grass seed and installed erosion control blanket to reduce the chance of dirt washing away. While we did seed later in the year, the grass seed will go dormant over the winter and germinate in the spring once the ground temperature stays at 55 degrees.

Golden, Colorado Liner Pool Removal

This vinyl liner pool in Golden, Colorado is a typical style we see.

To access, we needed to remove a few sections of fence. With this project, the client also wanted the hold hot tub and raised deck area removed.

We removed the vinyl liner, broke up the concrete pool bottom and removed the fiberglass sides. The concrete pool deck was pulled into the hole and broken up as well to remain as structural fill. We then brought clean fill dirt in and compacted in layers.

The client opted to have a new concrete patio poured and irrigation installed for the new lawn area. The project was then finished with sod for an instant green backyard. The clients and their dogs are enjoying the new backyard.

Centennial, Colorado Concrete Pool Removal

Here is another pool removal MackLand, LLC has completed in Centennial, Colorado. We met with these clients while they were in the process of purchasing the home. This pool had not been used in several years and was not a feature they wanted to keep.

This all concrete pool was squeezed into the side yard and surrounded by large trees keeping it in shade. With a narrow walkway around it and so close to the house, there was not a lot of room to maneuver around the pool or usable space. Our clients did not want the pool and the headaches that were sure to come with it and opted for a level area for the kids to enjoy.

We broke up the pool and pool deck in its entirety and left it onsite as structural fill. We them back filled with clean fill material and left them with a level area, pitching away from the house to use as they see fit.

Golden, Colorado Pool Removal

With this in-ground pool, our clients were in the processes of purchasing this new home. Removing the pool was a contingent part of the sale of the house and needed to be completed in a short time frame. We understood the client’s concerns and were able to remove the pool properly and in the time frame given.

The pool was an all concrete pool surrounded by a large concrete pool deck. All of the concrete was broken down and used it as structural fill in the deep end of the pool. We also removed a small shed that had housed the pool equipment.

After back filling, we brought the area to rough grade and installed erosion control blanket to stabilize the dirt. Since the client’s had not moved in yet, they wanted to wait and see how they were going to use the space.

Northbrook, IL Pool Removal

We receive many pool removal calls from Northbrook, IL and this is an example of another one we completed. After purchasing their house, our clients had focused on renovating the inside. Now their focus is on the backyard. The pool and wood deck had not been used in years and dominated the space. So this did not leave much room for their kids to play safely. They called us to discuss their Northbrook, IL pool removal options and how to best use the space they had in the back yard.

This pool has fiberglass sides and a concrete bottom. Because of the numerous large trees surrounding pool, maintenance was time consuming. Even with an automatic pool cover, you still needed to clean off the leaves.

Arvada, Colorado Pool Removal

MackLand, LLC receives numerous calls about removing pools in Arvada, CO every year. This in-ground pool dominated the backyard at this house. Also, it had not been used in years and had fallen into disrepair.

Centennial, Colorado Pool Removal

Looking for a more usable space for their residents, The Pines HOA in Centennial, CO contacted us about removing their pool. They had a fiberglass shell pool that had not be opened and used in over a year or so. The pool had become too expensive to maintain and it was time for it to go.

We removed the fiberglass shell pool and the concrete walk around it. We also removed the fence that was in place for pool safety but was not needed now. A wood deck at the other end of the space was also removed.

We brought the area to rough grade, giving them a blank slate to prepare for Phase 2 of their open space redesign. The residents now have a large open space to gather and enjoy.
